WHO WE ARE
In 1891, Chin Tung-Kao founded the Chinese Benevolent Society at
113 Barry Street in downtown Kingston.
Our mission statement
Develop, foster and, enhance the spirit of togetherness within the Chinese community.
Create the platform for our people to meet work and play in harmony and respect.
Foster the culture base that was handed to us by our parents, particularly in the areas of heritage, family, loyalty and respect for our elders and leaders.
Respond to the needs of our community, where possible, to the best of our ability.
Share with the wider community aspects of our culture.

CBA Library
Following numerous requests for information on the Chinese Jamaican history, we are planning to expand the Reading Library at the CBA Centre to include books and publications on this important topic.
We are asking for your assistance in acquiring relevant reading material on this subject matter. We welcome your recommendations or contribution of such books to the library, so that we may share the journey the first arrivals embarked on 160 years ago.
